Therapy for adults whose minds won’t shut off
Telehealth and office visits in Farmington, MI
Many people who reach out to our practice have tried therapy before and are looking for something that fits better. The work here is reflective and focused on understanding patterns over time, rather than following a one-size-fits-all structure.
Dr. Ghoul provides individual counseling for adults in Farmington, Michigan, and works with clients across Metro Detroit, both in person and online. She works with people who feel overwhelmed or stuck, even when life looks fine on the outside, and helps them make sense of emotional patterns and relationship dynamics….both past and present.
Many of the adults she works with tend to think deeply, feel a lot, and often arrive after other therapy experiences didn’t feel quite right. Her work involves noticing what keeps repeating, where someone feels stuck, and what helps create movement over time.
If you’re feeling disconnected from yourself, navigating grief or change, running into creative blocks, or feeling out of step with the world around you, you’re welcome to reach out for a consultation.

How Counseling Works
Counseling is a space to slow things down and look more closely at how certain patterns/habits have developed over time. Sessions focus on noticing what keeps repeating, where things feel stuck, and how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships interact with each other. Rather than working toward quick fixes or symptom reduction alone, the focus is on understanding these patterns to make daily life feel much more manageable.
The goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and find ways of living that feel more in-line with your values.

What to expect
Therapy begins with a free 15-minute video consultation, which gives people a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether the work feels like a good fit. Full sessions are usually 45–60 minutes.
The first few sessions focus on gathering information and understanding how a person’s experiences have shaped the way they think, feel, and relate. During this time, Dr. Ghoul listens carefully, asks clarifying questions, and works with the client to identify what they want help with, without rushing the process.
By the second or third session, she shares an initial treatment plan that outlines areas of focus and the general direction of the work. This plan is not rigid and may shift as new information comes up.
As therapy continues, sessions focus more directly on the concerns that brought the client in, which may involve a mix of structured and open-ended work depending on what is most helpful. Weekly sessions are usually recommended at the start, with the option to space sessions out over time as things begin to feel more stable. Scheduling can be adjusted as needed.
